About 40 singers and players attended. The band consisted of a recorder, three violins, a concertina and a cello. The voices were reasonably well balanced apart from a shortage of bass singers. Exceptionally, it was necessary to raid the tenor section to strengthen the basses. As so often, West Gallery music brought tenor voices out of the woodwork, so that they might have a chance to lead the ensemble in some items and sing music with a less challenging range than much classical music.

All the music listed below was practised at least once, with a little time for reprises at the end. Judging by the number of leaflets detailing other West Gallery singing opportunities that were taken, much interest was generated. There was even talk of "next year". The workshop was followed by a splendid tea for all, served in the best tradition of the Anglican church.
