The 2009 course sang some recently edited Christmas carols, and a selection of three-part music that would be useful to choirs that have a shortage of male singers. There were also three pieces requested by course members.

17 singers and players attended this year. More could have come, but owing to Benslow's booking procedure there was a waiting list. Anyone who would like to attend this course next time it is run is strongly advised to book as early as possible.

We sang through all the music listed below, plus several pieces from the Roding Music workshop material. Also included was the now traditional Halsway Grace, sung before Sunday lunch.

We did not have the opportunity this year for a joint concert with the Big Band, wih whom we share the house. But an innovation was a visit to the local Baptist Church to sing its own west gallery. Members had a chance to leave the singers and go downstairs to listen to the authentic sound of a gallery band from the nave of the church. This was generally acclaimed to be a successful idea, and one which future courses will hope to repeat.
